What is a Yak you ask?

A member of the bison and water buffalo family, Known to live at elevations of 13,000 feet. They are a part of daily life in Tibet, and play an important part in the economy and sustainability of the region. Yaks are both wild and domesticated, the latter being used in agriculture and transportation. Yaks also provide milk, meat, warm clothing and various cures for ailments.

At Yak Vans, we believe in conservation of wildlife and the natural resources that so many people depend on. We embrace the Yak as a symbol of our support for the all the people who protect our wildlife.
